L. A. Logrande was awarded the Southeastern Composers' League's Arnold Salop Memorial Composition Award twice - first for C.A.G.E (Clarinet & Guitar Etude), then again for Quartet for Brass. She has composed many works for saxophone including her latest Pulled (premiering 2012) for flute, alto saxophone, & piano. Indelible Imprint (2011) explores the delicacies of balance between present and past through remembrances spurred by John Keats' In drear-nighted December. A duet pairing saxophone and acoustic guitar requires such a balance dynamically. The rhythmic and harmonic ease of the opening and the ending serves as a frame of the present through which to view the challenging and changing moods of the past.
